small KITCHEN

About the project

To meet the client‘s brief and create an impressive open kitchen with good storage we maintained the general layout of kitchen, maximising use of the high ceiling on right hand side and increasing benchtop width.

Engineered stone with bronze vein was chosen, complemented with bronze handles, brass sink, tapware, kick, feature trims, wall sconces and custom antique brass rangehood.

The 2 pak finish shaker style cabinetry gave a freshness to the kitchen and worked well with the intergrated fridge, freezer and dishwasher.

To improve natural and artificial light in the kitchen, we opened up the left hand side wall to allow more natural light in, installed a gloss reflective white tile from bench to ceiling and added 2 wall sconces either side of the rangehood.

ISSUES FACED

The original space was the verandah with the angled ceiling limiting space and height of cabinets and location of the air condition vents.

The window to the outside verandah & BBQ, was a double hung window which limited access from kitchen.

SOLUTIONS OFFERED

We changed the cabinet height, positioning the air conditioning vent in the bulkhead above the cabinetry. The double hung window was removed and space increased in size to allow a bifold window to be installed.
