This lovely two bedroom apartment within a heritage city building had been in the rental pool for many years and the owners wished to make it their home. After finalising the clients brief a neutral palette was chosen to give a modern, tasteful & open feel to the space. A full renovation occurred including reducing the size of the powder room to increase the laundry size, new kitchen, ensuite and bathroom, custom built in cabinetry in both bedrooms & wardrobes, study, entertainment unit and console.

Tiles were replaced in hallway and kitchen with new carpet throughout and the sliding doors to balcony were replaced with bifold doors. The apartment was painted featuring the heritage cornices and skirting boards and ceiling mounted curtains were installed in bedrooms and living area. Ensemble beds, custom bedheads and linen were all part of the final installation.

ISSUES FACED

Service hydraulic columns were in both bedrooms impacting the space, air conditioning condensation pipes were in the ensuite, plumbing was in floor not walls and the services for kitchen were on adjacent wall to where we wanted them.

SOLUTIONS OFFERED

Custom built cabinetry was built around the service columns increasing storage and aesthetics. We were able to redirect the air conditioning condenser pipe in the ceiling and redirect it into the wall behind the vanity. A hob was built under the wall hung vanity to conceal the plumbing and a single drawer dishwasher was installed in the kitchen to allow plumbing to be directed underneath to the sink on the front bench.

It was absolute pleasure working with Jo and her team of tradesmen for our complete apartment refurbishment. Right from the start she was nothing but professional, courteous and understanding to our list of designer ideas and suggestions. For us not being in Brisbane for the majority of the work, was never a concern. Regular updates and plenty of progress photos kept us working together as the transformation progressed. Any of our changes, even mid project, were quickly added with ease. On-time and great project management. We will be using Jo again!
